Donna'S Hush Puppies(Great With Fried Catfish) - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. yellow corn meal
1 c. flour (all-purpose)
1 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1 Tbsp. sugar
1 onion, finely chopped
dash of red pepper
1 egg, beaten
buttermilk

Preparation

Mix dry ingredients.
Add beaten egg and enough buttermilk to make a thick batter.
(Start with about 3/4 cup buttermilk.)
Drop by teaspoons into hot grease until golden brown.
Yield:
2 dozen.
