Hoppin John Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 (15 oz.) cans Luck's black-eyed peas seasoned with pork
    1 lb. sausage
    1/2 stick margarine
    5 c. water
    1 1/2 c. white Minute rice
    1 medium onion, chopped
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Brown sausage and chopped onion in 2-quart pan.
    Add black-eyed peas and water and bring to a boil.
    Stir in margarine, salt and pepper and cook on medium heat 15 minutes.
    Stir in rice and cook 10 minutes.
