Chop Suey Or Chow Mein For 2Lubbock, Texas - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. celery, finely chopped
    1 c. Chinese cabbage, sliced thin
    1 c. bean sprouts
    1/2 lb. sliced beef, pork, shrimp or chicken
    1/2 c. yellow onion, finely cut
    1/2 clove garlic, minced
    3 Tbsp. cornstarch mixed with a little cold water
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. soy sauce
    1/2 tsp. sugar
    1/2 tsp. MSG
    3 Tbsp. oil
    Optional: Bamboo shoots, mushrooms, water chestnuts, snow peas, 1/2 cup.
Preparation
    Use wok or skillet to heat oil over medium heat.
    Cook meat with garlic until browned.
    Add all vegetables and seasonings and 1/2 c. water.
    Stir, cover and bring to a boil.
    Stir in cornstarch mixture and continue stirring until thick and smooth. Cover for 2 minutes and serve over rice or chow mein noodles.
