Oatmeal Cookies - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3/4 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon
dash of salt
1 c. raisins
1 c. water
2 c. rolled oats
1/4 c. nuts, chopped
Preparation

Simmer raisins in water until tender.
Drain and save liquid. Add water to liquid to make 1/2 cup.
Cream shortening, sugar and eggs; add liquid and mix well.
Sift flour, baking powder, soda, salt and spices.
Add gradually to shortening and liquid mixture. Mix well.
Add oats.
Stir in raisins and nuts.
Drop onto cookie sheet that has been greased and floured lightly.
Bake 8 to 10 minutes at 375\u00b0.
