Ingredients

1 Tbsp. plain gelatin
1/4 Tbsp. cold water
1 c. boiling water
3 egg whites
1 c. sugar
1/4 c. lemon juice
1 1/2 c. milk
1/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 egg yolks
Preparation

Mix gelatin with cold water.
Mix in boiling water.
Let stand until stiff.
Beat egg whites, sugar and lemon juice.
Add to gelatin and chill.
Boil milk, sugar, vanilla and egg yolks.
Cook custard mixture over medium heat until thick.
Let cool.
Serve. Put gelatin mixture into sherbet glasses and pour custard over mixture.
