Layered Garden Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head lettuce or 4 to 6 c. bite-sized greens
    1 small onion, chopped fine
    4 sliced, hard-boiled eggs
    2 c. frozen peas, uncooked
    8 slices bacon, chipped
    1 to 1 1/2 c. salad dressing
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    cream or milk
    4 oz. cheese, grated
Preparation
    Layer lettuce, onion, eggs, peas
    and
    bacon in 9 x 13-inch dish in order given.
    Mix salad
    dressing
    and
    sugar and add enough milk or cream to make a smooth spreading consistency. Spread over salad like a frosting.
    Top with grated
    cheese. Refrigerate
    8
    to 12 hours before serving.
