Scrumptious Chocolate Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 c. sugar
2/3 c. shortening
3 eggs
3/4 c. buttermilk
2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. baking soda
3 Tbsp. cocoa (heaping)
3 tsp. vanilla
1 c. boiling water

Preparation

Preheat oven to 325\u00b0. Cream together sugar and shortening. Add eggs and buttermilk. Sift together flour, cocoa, salt and baking soda. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the egg mixture. Add vanilla and boiling water. Bake at 325\u00b0 for 35 minutes. Test with toothpick. Frost with Chocolate Buttercream Frosting.
