1/4 lb. (1 stick) butter or oleo
Preparation

Dry cavity; rub it with salt.
Butter inside and out.
Shake stuffing into the cavity.
Never pack it in.
Truss, tying legs together firmly, pulling wings up over the breast and tying all close to body.
Rub butter into every pore of the bird that you may have missed, extra coating to the breast.
