Seven Layer Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head lettuce, shredded
    1 red pepper, cut in strips or chopped
    1 c. celery chopped
    2 cans tiny green peas with pearl onions and mushrooms
    1 1/2 to 2 c. mayonnaise
    1 to 2 Tbsp. sugar
    1 c. Cheddar cheese, shredded
    Parmesan cheese, grated
    real bacon bits or 4 to 6 strips bacon, cooked crisp
Preparation
    Arrange lettuce, red pepper, celery and peas in layers.
    Mix mayonnaise and sugar; warm 20 seconds in microwave.
    Spread on top.
    Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese, then cover with Cheddar cheese.
    Refrigerate overnight.
    Sprinkle bacon bits on top before serving.
