Carrot And Potato Casserole(Huisput) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. carrots
    6 medium white potatoes
    1 large onion, chopped
    1 large clove garlic
    1 scant tsp. mustard
    1/8 lb. butter
    1 c. milk
    1 c. shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
    salt and pepper to taste
    2 slices American cheese, cut into 8 pieces
Preparation
    Cook carrots and potatoes until tender.
    Drain, saving a little of the liquid.
    Mash together with a little of the cooking liquid.
    Then add remaining ingredients.
    Continue to mash until mashed potato consistency.
    Top with 8 pieces of American cheese and bake at 400\u00b0 for 10 minutes or slightly browned on top. Serves 6.
