Denver Biscuits - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 qt. milk
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. Crisco
    2 pkg. yeast
    1/4 c. warm water
    10 c. flour
    1 Tbsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. soda
    1/4 c. water
Preparation
    Scald 1
    quart milk.
    Mix sugar and Crisco together and add to milk; cool.
    Add yeast which has been dissolved in 1/4 cup of warm
    water.
    Add enough flour (about 7 cups) to make a dough with the
    consistency
    of cake dough.
    Let rise 1 hour. Mix baking powder
    and
    salt and sprinkle over bread mixture. Dissolve soda in\t1/4
    cup water and pour over bread mixture. Stir in
    well. Add
    about\t3
    cups
    of
    flour to make biscuit dough.
    Refrigerate for
    20
    minutes
    before making biscuits. Dough may be kept in sealed container in refrigerator and used as needed.
    Cook biscuits at 400\u00b0 for 12 to 15 minutes.
    They do not need to rise before baking.
