Pumpkin Cake - cooking recipe

2 1/4 c. sifted cake flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. ginger
1/4 tsp. allspice
1/2 c. butter or shortening
1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1 egg and 2 egg yolks (unbeaten)
3/4 c. buttermilk or sour milk
3/4 c. canned pumpkin
1/2 c. finely chopped walnuts
Preparation

Measure sifted flour.
Add baking powder, salt, baking soda and spices.
Cream butter and add sugars gradually.
Cream well. Add eggs, one at a time; beat until light.
Add flour alternately with milk.
Beat until smooth.
Add pumpkin and nuts.
Mix well. Bake in 8-inch cake pans at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 35 minutes.
