Colossal Cherry Cobbler - cooking recipe

1/2 c. butter
1 c. self rising flour
1 c. sugar
1 c. milk
3/4 tsp. almond extract
4 c. pitted fresh sweet cherries
Preparation

Melt butter in a 12 x 8 x 2-inch baking dish. Set aside. Combine flour and sugar; add milk and almond extract. Stir until blended. Spoon batter over butter; do not stir. Spoon cherries over batter; do not stir. Bake at 375\u00b0 for 35 minutes or until golden brown. Yield about 8 servings.
