Banana Split Torte - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 sticks butter
    3 c. vanilla wafers
    2 c. powdered sugar
    2 eggs
    6 ripe bananas
    2 (20 oz.) cans crushed pineapple
    2 cans Thank You brand cherries
    1 tub Cool Whip
    1/4 c. chopped nuts (optional)
Preparation
    Melt one stick of butter in a 9 x 13-inch pan.
    Crush 3 cups vanilla wafers.
    Mix with butter and pack well in pan; refrigerate well.
    Beat at high speed until creamy the powdered sugar and soft butter.
    Add eggs one at a time.
    Spread mixture on cracker crust. Slice bananas oblong.
    (Let them sit in pineapple juice to prevent browning.) Place them on mixture.
    Drain pineapple and place on bananas.
    Place cherries on top of pineapple; top with Cool Whip.
    (Optional:
    top with 1/4 cup chopped nuts.)
    Chill overnight or 4 hours.
