Stir-Fried Beef And Vegetables - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3/4 to 1 lb. flank steak, cut into 1/8-inch diagonal slices
1 large sweet onion, sliced
8 oz. fresh mushrooms, sliced
1 green bell pepper, cut in strips
1 clove garlic, finely chopped
2 tsp. beef bouillon (2 cubes)
1/3 c. boiling water
1/4 c. soy sauce
2 Tbsp. cider vinegar
2 1/2 tsp. cornstarch
1 tsp. sugar
1/4 c. vegetable oil
1 (8 oz.) can sliced water chestnuts, drained
Preparation

Prepare meat and vegetables. Dissolve bouillon in water. Combine soy sauce, vinegar, cornstarch and sugar, then add to bouillon mixture. In a large heavy skillet or wok, heat 2 tablespoons vegetable oil over high heat.
Add garlic and meat, then stir-fry for 2 minutes (meat will be slightly pink in the center).
Remove meat juices and set aside.
Wipe pan and heat 1 tablespoon vegetable oil. Add onion, mushrooms, green pepper and water chestnuts. Stir-fry 2 minutes over high heat.
Now, add remaining 1 tablespoon vegetable oil around edge of pan. Add meat juices, then bouillon mixture. Stir, cover and let cook for 2 minutes.
Makes 4 servings.
