Marinated Green Beans - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 (1 lb.) cans whole green beans
    1/2 c. chopped or sliced red onions
    2/3 c. sugar
    2/3 c. cider vinegar
    2/3 tsp. salt
    black pepper to taste
    1 Tbsp. oil
Preparation
    Drain beans; save 1/3 cup juice.
    In saucepan, heat onion and all remaining ingredients until sugar is dissolved.
    Pour over beans in bowl.
    Cover and refrigerate overnight.
