1/2 c. Crisco or margarine
1/2 c. crunchy peanut butter
1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. flour
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt

Preparation

Combine oleo, peanut butter and sugar; beat until fluffy.
Add egg and vanilla; beat well.
Sift together flour, baking soda and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture and mix thoroughly.
Shape dough into 1-inch balls.
Place on ungreased baking sheets.
Press center of each ball with thumb.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 7 minutes. Press candy star into center of each cookie; continue baking 2 to 3 minutes, or until lightly browned.
Cool on rack.
