Helen'S Corn Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. Shawnee's self-rising corn meal
2/3 c. self-rising flour
2 tsp. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 scant tsp. soda
buttermilk (to make batter to cake consistency)
Preparation

Mix all ingredients well, adding buttermilk as needed.
Do not add oil or fat to batter.
Grease or oil baking pan.
Add batter to pan and bake in preheated 400\u00b0 oven until golden brown, usually about 30 minutes.
This recipe has made for a happy marriage for 51 years.
