Yellow Squash Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 c. sliced squash
    2 c. sliced onions
    1/2 c. diced green pepper
    1 Tbsp. salt
    1 c. cider vinegar
    1 3/4 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. celery seed
    1/2 tsp. mustard seed
Preparation
    Combine squash, onion and green pepper.
    Sprinkle with salt and let stand 1 hour.
    Combine vinegar, sugar, celery seed and mustard seed.
    Bring to boil.
    Add squash, onion and green pepper and return to boil.
    Pack in hot, sterilized jars, covering with vinegar mixture.
    Seal.
    Yields 4 pints.
