Ingredients

5 c. onions, sliced
1/4 c. butter or margarine
6 c. beef bouillon
salt and pepper to taste
toasted slices of French bread or croutons
Swiss cheese
Preparation

Peel onions and slice thin.
Brown lightly in butter.
Add bouillon and simmer for 30 minutes.
Spoon into bowls.
Add bread. Put Swiss cheese on top and put under broiler until cheese melts.
