Seven Layer Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head lettuce
    3 c. mayonnaise
    1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen peas
    1/2 c. onion, chopped
    8 to 10 slices bacon, fried and crumbled
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    6 oz. shredded Cheddar
    1/2 c. celery, chopped
    1/2 c. green pepper, chopped
Preparation
    Thaw frozen peas; tear lettuce in chunks and place in large bowl.
    Add in layers, celery, green pepper, onion and peas. Spread over with mayonnaise.
    Sprinkle sugar, cheese and crumbled bacon on the mixture.
    Cover with plastic and chill for at least 8 hours.
    (Other ingredients can be used if desired:
    cauliflower, cucumbers and mushrooms.)
