Devilicious Cherry Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pkg. devil's food cake mix
    1 (1 lb.) can pitted dark sweet cherries
    1/4 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1/4 c. Burgundy wine
    1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
    1/4 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. milk
    1/4 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Prepare cake mix and bake in 13 x 9-inch pan.
    Cool.
    Drain cherries, reserving syrup.
    In saucepan, blend 1/4 cup sugar and cornstarch; gradually add cherry syrup, mixing well.
    Cook and stir over medium heat until mixture thickens and boils.
    Remove from heat; stir in wine and cherries.
    Beat cream cheese, 1/4 cup sugar, milk and vanilla until fluffy.
    Cut cake in squares.
    Top each square with a mound of cream cheese mixture.
    Serve warm cherry sauce over all.
