Chicken Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 lb. chicken, cut in pieces
    1/4 c. oleo
    1 small onion, sliced
    2 stalks celery, sliced
    1 carrot, sliced
    1/2 lemon, quartered
    1 bay leaf
    2 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. unsifted flour
    black pepper
Preparation
    Wash chicken and pat dry with paper towels.
    In a large pot, brown chicken in oleo on both sides.
    Remove from heat.
    Add onion, celery, carrot, lemon, black pepper and bay leaf.
    Cover with boiling water.
    Bring to a boil; then reduce heat and cover. Let simmer 45 minutes.
    Add salt; cook, covered, one hour until chicken is tender.
