Tomato Preserves - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 lb. ripe tomatoes (11 c.), quartered
    8 c. sugar
    2 lemons, sliced thin
Preparation
    Scald, peel and quarter tomatoes.
    Add sugar.
    Let stand overnight. Drain off juices and boil rapidly, until it spins a thread.
    Add tomatoes and lemons; boil until thick and clear. Pour into sterilized jars and seal with lids as filled.
