Punch Bowl Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 yellow cake mix
    1 can cherry pie filling or 2 pkg. instant vanilla pudding (prepare as directed)
    1 large can crushed pineapple
    6 bananas
    1 qt. unsweetened strawberries
    1 very large carton Cool Whip
Preparation
    Bake cake in a 9 x 13-inch pan.
    Prepare instant pudding as directed on box.
    When cake is cooled, crumble 1/2 of the cake in the bottom of a large punch bowl, then pour 1/2 of the pudding over the cake, then layer 1/2 of the cherry pie filling, pineapple, 3 sliced bananas and 1/2 of strawberries in that order over the pudding.
    Spread a layer of Cool Whip over bananas, then begin the layers again, starting with the cake and ending with the Cool Whip.
    You can garnish the top with strawberries, cherries or nuts.
