Cherry Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. flour
    1 c. tart cherries with juice
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. soda
    1 egg
    1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Cream egg and sugar; add 1/2 cup flour and mix well. Add salt and vanilla. Add soda to cherries. Hold over bowl as this foams up and turns very dark. Add remaining 1/2 cup flour; mix well. Add 1 cup nuts (not black walnuts). Bake in greased, floured pan, 9 x 13-inch or loaf pan, 9 x 5 x 3-inches at 350\u00b0 for 35 to 45 minutes. Serve with dip or whipped cream or both. Keeps well.
