Fruit Scones - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. softened butter
    1/3 c. currants
    1/3 c. dried apricots, chopped fine
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 c. heavy cream (reserve 2 Tbsp.)
Preparation
    Combine dry ingredients with butter until crumbly.
    Add currants, apricots, sugar and cream.
    Knead gently.
    Cut dough in half.
    Pat each half into a circle and cut into 8 wedges.
    Brush top with reserved cream and sprinkle lightly with granulated sugar.
    Bake in 350\u00b0 oven for approximately 20 minutes and then test for doneness.
    Makes 16 scones.
