Governor'S Mansion Rolls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. warm water
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 pkg. yeast
    4 c. plain flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 well beaten egg
Preparation
    Mix water, sugar and yeast in a large jar and let stand 30 minutes. (Be sure it's large enough or it will come over top.) Sift flour into mixing bowl. Add salt, shortening, egg and water mixture. Mix well. Let stand for 2 hours. Roll out, cut out, place on baking sheet and let stand another 2 hours or until rolls rise. Bake at 375\u00b0 until brown. (You may have to add more flour.)
