The Colonel'S Banana Punch - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sugar
    3 c. water
    1 (46 oz.) can pineapple juice
    1 (46 oz.) can orange juice
    3 ripe bananas, mashed or pureed
    1/4 c. lemon juice
    1 qt. ginger ale
Preparation
    Using a 6-quart or larger vessel, make a simple syrup by dissolving sugar in water.
    Add all other ingredients, except ginger ale.
    (Mash bananas at the last minute, as they darken quickly.)
    Pour mixture into freezer containers and freeze.
    To serve, thaw and add ginger ale to make slush.
    (Thawing doesn't take long, since mixture does not freeze to a solid.)
    Makes about 40 half-cup servings or 5 quarts.
