Meatless Borsch - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 onions, sliced thin
    6 to 8 beets (cooked with skin on, then peeled, shredded and put aside)
    3 carrots, shredded
    3 stalks celery, cut up
    1 small bag spices and clove of garlic
    bay leaves
    1/2 c. sliced mushrooms
    2 cans beef broth
    1 can consomme
    1 can tomato soup
Preparation
    Saute onions in some oil or margarine.
    Add liquids and spices.
    (One tablespoon spices, bay leaves and clove of garlic in cheesecloth bag.)
    Add carrots and celery; let simmer until soft. Add some sour cream and dill; stir well.
    When serving the borsch, add a dab of sour cream on top.
