Black Beans - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. black beans
    1 (No. 1) small bottle olive oil
    5 onions
    2 green peppers
    6 slices bacon
    1 whole garlic
    1 bay leaf
    1 peeled apple
    rice (optional)
Preparation
    Before cooking, wash beans and soak 4 to 5 hours.
    Water should cover beans by 1 1/2 inches.
    Add 1 tablespoon olive oil, 1 onion and 1 green pepper to beans.
    After soaking, bring beans to boil uncovered.
    When boiling, add bacon.
    Cover and lower to medium heat for 1 hour.
    Add sauce and lower heat to simmer for an additional hour or until slightly thickened.
    Along with sauce add bay leaf, black pepper, 1 tablespoon salt and apple (sliced).
