Giant Ginger Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 1/2 c. flour
    2 tsp. baking soda
    4 tsp. ginger
    1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. cloves
    1 1/2 c. shortening
    2 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    1/2 c. molasses
    3/4 c. coarse or granulated sugar
Preparation
    Stir together flour, soda and spices.
    Set aside. In large bowl, beat shortening until softened.
    Gradually add 2 cups sugar; beat until fluffy.
    Add eggs and molasses; beat well.
    Add half of flour; beat until combined.
    Stir in remaining flour with a wooden spoon.
    Using a 1/4-cup ice cream scoop, shape dough into 2-inch balls.
    Roll in sugar.
    Place on ungreased cookie sheet about 2 1/2-inches apart.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 12 minutes or until light brown and puffed.
    Let stand 2 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
    Cool.
    Makes about 25 cookies.
