Famed Fruit Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 lb. butter
    1 c. sugar
    5 eggs, beaten
    1 3/4 c. plain flour
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 lb. pineapple (candied)
    1 lb. glazed cherries
    4 c. pecans, chopped
    1 Tbsp. vanilla
    1 Tbsp. lemon flavoring
Preparation
    Cream the butter; add sugar gradually, creaming until fluffy. Add eggs.
    Blend into mixture.
    Chop fruit and nuts.
    Sift flour; measure and sift again with baking powder.
    Mix flour with fruit and nuts.
    Fold flour mixture into butter mixture.
    Add flavoring and mix well.
    Pour into a greased, paper-lined tube pan.
    Place in cold oven and bake at 250\u00b0 for about 2 1/2 hours.
    Makes a 5-pound cake.
