Boiled Fruit Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 oz. mixed dried fruit
    3 oz. margarine
    3 oz. soft brown sugar
    1 tsp. mixed spice (optional)
    8 fluid oz. water
    8 oz. plain flour
    1 tsp. bicarbonate of soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Put fruit, margarine, sugar, spice and water in saucepan. Bring to boil.
    Boil for 3 minutes.
    Cool.
    Add flour, bicarbonate of soda and salt.
    Beat well.
    Pour into a 6 inch greased and lined cake tin.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour.
