Hot Holiday Punch - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. granulated sugar
1/2 c. packed brown sugar
4 c. apple cider
1 (3-inch) cinnamon stick
12 whole cloves
2 c. grapefruit juice
2 c. orange juice
orange slices
maraschino cherry halves
whole cloves
Preparation

Combine sugars and apple cider in a large saucepan.
Heat, stirring, until sugars are dissolved.
Add cloves and cinnamon stick.
Boil over medium heat for 1 minute.
Reduce heat to simmer and simmer 5 minutes longer.
Add grapefruit and orange juices. Heat, but do not boil.
Strain and empty into heatproof punch bowl. Decorate the orange slices with maraschino cherries and cloves. Ready to serve.
Yields approximately 8 cups.
