Ingredients

3/4 c. sugar
2 tsp. cornstarch
1/3 c. vinegar or lemon juice
1/3 c. water
4 c. cooked beets
3 Tbsp. butter
1/4 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
Preparation

Add vinegar (or lemon juice) and water to combined sugar and cornstarch.
Bring to a boil and boil about 5 minutes.
Add beets and simmer to heat through, about 1/2 hour.
Add butter, salt and pepper to season.
