Steak Sinkiang - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. thinly sliced beef
    1 onion, sliced
    1 green pepper, sliced
    3 cloves garlic
    1 can bean sprouts, drained
    1 c. sliced mushrooms
    4 Tbsp. peanut oil
    salt and pepper
    2 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1 c. water (cold)
    soy sauce
Preparation
    Heat oil; add garlic.
    Saute beef until nearly well-done; remove from oil.
    Saute onions, peppers and mushrooms.
    Add cornstarch to cold water in a separate cup; mix until smooth. Pour over vegetables and stir until thickened.
    Add beef and bean sprouts.
    Simmer a few minutes.
    Serve over rice.
