Picante Sauce - cooking recipe
Ingredients

24 large tomatoes or 16 c., chopped
6 onions, or 3 c., chopped
8 ribs celery or 3 c., chopped
8 jalapeno peppers or 1/2 c., chopped
16 cloves garlic or 1/2 Tbsp., mashed
1/2 c. banana peppers, chopped (if desired)
2 c. vinegar
2 Tbsp. brown sugar
3 Tbsp. salt
Preparation
-
Cook first 6 ingredients until tender.
Add vinegar, brown sugar and salt.
Simmer 30 minutes or until thickened.
Pour into hot pint jars and seal.
Yields 9 pints.
