Ingredients

1 1/2 c. sugar
2 c. plain flour
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. allspice
1 tsp. cloves
1 c. vegetable oil
3 eggs
1 c. buttermilk
1 Tbsp. vanilla
1 c. fig preserves
1 c. chopped nuts
Preparation

Combine
dry
ingredients
in
large
mixing bowl.
Add flour and
beat well.
Add eggs, beating well after each.
Add milk and vanilla; mix well.\tStir in preserves and nuts.
Pour into 10-inch greased and floured tube pan.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
Let cool 10 minutes, remove from pan.
