French Strawberry Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
    1 to 2 Tbsp. cream or top milk
    1 qt. fresh strawberries
    1 c. sugar
    3 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1 c. heavy cream, whipped
    1 (9-inch) baked pastry shell
Preparation
    Spread cream cheese, blended with sufficient cream to soften, over bottom of cooled shell.
    Place half the berries in cheese-coated shell.
    Mash remaining berries (reserving a few for garnish) until juice is well extracted.
    Bring to boiling point and slowly stir in sugar and cornstarch which have been mixed together.
    Cook slowly for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Cool and pour over uncooked berries in shell.
    Place pie in refrigerator until very cold.
    Decorate with sweetened whipped cream and whole berries just before serving.
