Fried Okra - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. fresh tender okra
    3 Tbsp. cornmeal
    1 Tbsp. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    4 Tbsp. shortening or bacon drippings
Preparation
    Cut okra into about 1/4-inch slices.
    Mix cornmeal, flour, salt and pepper.
    Roll okra in mixture.
    Heat a heavy skillet with shortening in it.
    Have it very hot when you add okra.
    Leave on hot for about 2 to 3 minutes.
    Keep stirring and turn to low; let fry slowly.
    Every few minutes, stir to keep from sticking.
    Will take about 25 minutes to cook.
    Turn up heat last few minutes of cooking so will be crunchy.
