German Chocolate Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (4 oz.) pkg. Baker's German's sweet chocolate
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. shortening
    4 eggs
    2 tsp. Adams imitation butter flavor
    2 tsp. vanilla or Adams Best
    1 c. buttermilk
    3 c. sifted all-purpose flour
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Partially melt chocolate over hot water.
    Remove from hot water and stir rapidly until entirely melted.
    Cool.
    Cream sugar and shortening.
    Add eggs, flavorings and buttermilk.
    Sift together flour, soda and salt; add to shortening and mix well.
    Stir in chocolate until blended.
    Pour batter into a well-greased and floured 9-inch tube pan.
    Bake in a slow oven (300\u00b0) about 1 1/2 hours.
    Remove from pan.
    While still hot, place under tightly fitting cover until thoroughly cooled.
    Tastes great with or without glaze.
