Green Beans With Tomatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. olive oil
    1 large onion, peeled and chopped
    3 cloves garlic, peeled and chopped
    1 tsp. sugar
    3 large tomatoes, peeled, seeded and cut into chunks or 1 (28 oz.) can tomatoes
    1 bay leaf, crumbled
    1/2 tsp. powdered allspice
    1 lb. small green beans
Preparation
    Heat the olive oil in a saucepan.
    Add the onion and garlic and cook gently, stirring for 4 to 5 minutes, taking care that they don't brown.
    Stir in the sugar and cook for another minute, then add the tomatoes, bay leaf, allspice and 1/2 teaspoon salt.
