Sweet Potato Scallop - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    12 small sweet potatoes
    3 large Granny Smith apples
    1 1/2 sticks butter or margarine
    1 c. packed light brown sugar
    1/2 c. Karo syrup
    1 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation
    Boil sweet potatoes.
    Cool and peel.
    Cut into small slices. Core and pare apples.
    Quarter them and slice thin.
    Layer slices and apples in a casserole dish.
    Make a candied sauce with butter, brown sugar, syrup and cinnamon.
    Bring to a boil and pour over the casserole when thickened.
    Bake until the apples are soft and glaze is bubbly.
