Ingredients

3/4 c. slivered almonds
1/3 c. instant coffee powder
2 1/2 c. flour
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 lb. butter
1 1/4 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. chocolate chips
Preparation

Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
Toast almonds on baking sheet in oven until golden, about 10 minutes.
Dissolve coffee powder in 2 tablespoons hot water.
Combine flour, soda and salt.
With mixer at medium speed; beat sugar and butter until creamy.
Beat in cooled coffee, vanilla and eggs.
Beat in dry ingredients.
Stir in nuts and chips.
Drop by teaspoon onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake until edges turn brown, about 3 minutes.
