Buttermilk Scones - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. flour
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 stick butter
    1 egg
    1/2 c. buttermilk
    2 tsp. vanilla
    2/3 c. dried fruit
Preparation
    Sift dry ingredients into bowl.
    Cut in butter until blended and crumbly.
    Gently mix in wet ingredients and fruit.
    (Use raisins, dates, apricots, prunes, etc., whatever you prefer.) Knead mixture a few times.
    Divide mixture in half and place on greased cookie sheet.
    Form circle about 1/2 to 3/4-inch thick. Score lightly on top, 6 pieces each.
    Sprinkle with sugar.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 for 15 minutes.
    Keeps very well, wrapped.
