Cashaw Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 medium cashaw
    1/2 c. water
    3 to 4 c. sugar
    1/2 c. self-rising flour
    1 Tbsp. vanilla flavoring
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    1/2 c. butter or margarine
    1/2 c. coconut
Preparation
    Peel off green skin of cashaw.
    Cut into small squares and place in boiling water. Lower flame and allow to simmer until tender.
    Remove from flame and add butter, sugar, vanilla flavoring, nutmeg and flour.
    Mix to desired consistency. Fold in coconut last.
    Pour into pie crust.
    Bake in a 400\u00b0 oven for 35 to 45 minutes.
