Red Velvet Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    1 large bottle red food coloring
    1 Tbsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. soda
    2 Tbsp. cocoa
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. buttermilk
    2 1/4 c. cake flour
    1 Tbsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Cream shortening, sugar and eggs.
    Make paste of food coloring and cocoa; add to creamed mixture.
    Add salt to buttermilk.
    Add alternately to creamed mixture; blend well.
    Add vanilla.
    Mix soda and vinegar together.
    Add into batter.
    Pour into 2 (9-inch) pans.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
