Grandma Edwards' Devil'S Food Cake(Fit For Angels) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. butter (1 stick)
    2 eggs
    1/2 cake Baker's chocolate (4 oz.), dissolved in 1/2 c. boiling water
    1 little salt (probably 1/4 tsp.)
    1 tsp. soda, dissolved in 1/2 c. sour milk
    3 c. flour (Grandma probably used cake flour)
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar.
    Add well beaten eggs.
    Add cooled, melted chocolate.
    Stir in flour and milk alternately.
    Bake in 2 layers at 350\u00b0 for about 25 to 30 minutes, or until cake springs back when touched.
    Cool.
    Use the following filling and icing.
