Sweet And Sour Lentils - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. vegetable broth
    1 bay leaf, crushed
    sea salt to taste
    1 c. picked over and washed dried lentils (yellow) or green split peas
    1 clove garlic, finely chopped
    1/8 tsp. ground cloves
    1/8 tsp. nutmeg
    3 Tbsp. oil
    3 Tbsp. apple juice or apple cider
    3 Tbsp. cider vinegar
    3 Tbsp. brown sugar or honey
Preparation
    Bring broth to boil in kettle.
    Add bay leaf, salt and lentils or peas.
    Cover; simmer gently for 30 minutes.
    Add remaining ingredients; stir to mix well.
    Cook for 5 minutes, or until lentils or peas are tender.
    Serves 4.
